The Hindu marriage act, 1955 was intended to the rights of marriage for the bride and groom who are Hindu and are bound under the sacred bond of marriage under any ceremony. its necessary for every Indian after marriage. act is not define the kind of ceremony since there are several ways a man and a woman may carry out this religious act.
Marriage in India is considered a sacrament. That is why our law covers marriage registration. Marriage registration is a necessity for any couple. Those who have learned or are illiterate, must fulfill their obligations.

The documents required and instructions :
- Form No. 5 and Form No. 1 (Marriage Registration Department / online form is available)
- The real copy of the living certificate of the bride and groom.
- The true copy of the bride and groom's election card and ration card.
- Photograph of two passports size and wedding couple photo of both the bride and groom.
- The example of Gour Maharaj, the Kankotari Original and Xerox copy.
- The true copy of the election card and ration cards of Gorda Maharaj and both party witnesses.
- To keep all the evidence in two copies and the bride and groom sign the evidence.
- To keep up with all the original certifications to show.
- Filling the marriage application form with a dark ball pen and a checker in the clerk should be insured.
- Both the bride and groom should be present at the time of marriage registration.
- The fees for marriage registration are as follows
- If the registration is done within one month from the date of marriage, the fee is Rs.5 / -.
- If the registration is done within three months from the date of marriage, the fee is Rs. 15 / -.
- If you register for a period of three months from the date of marriage, the fee is Rs 25 / -.
- Two agreements stamp of Rs.1100 + 100 on the form as well as Rs. Court stamps of Rs 3 / - should be imposed.
- Forms for marriage registration will be available free of charge from the marriage registration registrar.

Select your district and continue.
Fill in husband's details and choose "Registration of Marriage Certificate".
Fill in Marriage Certificate form and choose date of appointment.
Click "Submit Application"
You will be allotted a temporary number that will be found printed on the acknowledgement slip and application form is done.
Take a printout of acknowledgement slip as well.
Appointment:
In case of Hindu Marriage Act, you will get an appointment within 15 days of the online registration, but in case of Special Marriage Act, it may take upto 60 days.
Witness:
Any person who has attended the wedding of the couple can be a witness and must have a PAN Card and a Proof of Residence.
'Tatkal' Marriage Certificate:
In April 2014, the Revenue Department of Delhi government introduced a 'tatkal' service ensuring a single-day authorisation of the marriage under which the registration process will be undertaken on priority.
The service, which became operational on April 22, 2014 enables citizens to register their nuptials and get a certificate issued within 24 hours on payment of Rs. 10,000 as a fee.
Benefits of Marriage Certificate:
- If you are applying for a passport or opening a bank account after the wedding, then Marriage Certificate is required.
- Extremely helpful in obtaining visas for both husband and wife.
- As the foreign embassies in India as well as in countries outside India, do not recognize traditional marriages, the Marriage Certificate is mandatory for the couple to travel abroad using a spouse visa.
- Enables a spouse in claiming life insurance return or bank deposits in case of demise of the Insurer or depositor without any nominee.
Fees:
- Rs 100/- in case of Hindu Marriage Act
- Rs 150/- in case of Special Marriage Act
Deposit the fees with the cashier of the District and attach the receipt with the application form.
